Dear Fellowship Family,

Since learning of the COVID-19 virus being introduced into The United States, our management team has been paying close attention to developments each day and anticipating ways that it could potentially impact our residents, their families and our staff. We have been keeping abreast of the latest CDC guidelines and Fellowship Home leadership recently met to formulate a strategy that encompasses their recommendations and also accommodates the unique needs of our residents, whose safety and peace of mind is our first and foremost priority.
Here is a summary of the infection control precautions that we will be immediately putting into place, many of which we have enforced during the height of flu season in the past.
• Starting immediately, all guests will be restricted. Those who must enter any community will be screened prior to admission. A health screening containing short infection control requirements will be used to identify any visitors who have certain risk factors. These risk factors include recent international travel and physical symptoms that the CDC has instructed health care facilities including long term care communities to screen for.
• All visitors will also be instructed to wash or sanitize their hands upon entry to Fellowship Home.
• Any scheduled off-site activities such as shopping and dining out will be postponed until further notice. Also, we are asking residents to reschedule or postpone any non-urgent medical appointments to reduce the possibility of being exposed to someone who is ill.
• As mandated by state regulations, all Fellowship Home communities keep an emergency supply of food and water as a standard disaster preparedness measure. This ensures that we are prepared in the event that any vendors run behind on deliveries due to employee illness or difficulties in traveling.
• Fellowship Home has stocked each community with a 30-day supply of hand soap and/or hand sanitizer. Residents are being educated on hand-washing procedures and prompted when necessary to wash hands. As part of employee training and orientation guidelines, Fellowship Home staff are knowledgeable regarding proper handwashing procedures and have been instructed to utilize infection control measures at every opportunity.
• Should there be any resident who displays symptoms of illness such as fever, coughing or shortness of breath, we will immediately be requesting that the resident remain in their apartment and will be contacting their physician for further instructions.
Fellowship Home management will be communicating any changes or additions to these guidelines as we see necessary and we welcome any questions that you may have. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we adjust our daily routine to accommodate these precautions and promise to make every effort to ensure that our residents stay safe and healthy as this situation passes.

Sincerely,
Fellowship Family Administration
